I’m Linards. I build products end to end: the research, the flows, the interface, the design system, the code, the live test.

I grew up in Riga and was always interested in design and the trades around it: a printing trades school in Latvia, a photography academy in Graz, then web design and web technologies at Birkbeck in London. A lot of making things and testing.

Then a decade in email at Merkle (Dentsu), Ometria and MRM-McCann, shipping personalised campaigns for Audi, Volkswagen Group, SKODA, SEAT, O2, Virgin Media and SkyShowtime to audiences of up to three million people. Email is design’s most hostile medium, honestly: dozens of rendering engines, no JavaScript, dark mode rewriting your colours behind your back. It teaches you two things. A broken render has a price, so the build process has to be measurable. And consistency is a system, not a back-and-forth in HTML: measure eight times, cut once.

I built the drag-and-drop design systems that let non-technical marketers assemble on-brand campaigns they could not break. I trained the juniors, wrote the onboarding documentation and ran the client demos, because a team that understands the system retains the client.

In June 2026, after ten years, Dentsu made my role redundant. By then I had already spent a year building with AI to upskill for the future, because agents had changed what one person could do.

Since January: five production systems, designed, built and shipped solo. A transit platform I presented at Riga City Hall, whose documentation the city is forwarding to Rīgas Satiksme (Riga’s municipal transport operator). An e-commerce store taking Stripe payments, with an admin dashboard. An email platform with nine agents behind a ten-point QA gate, built test-first with AI security in mind. A native wellness app for iOS and Android. And the assistant that runs my own working day.

There was no designer to hand off to on any of them, so every flow, screen and token is planned by me. The design decisions turned out to be the part of the work I care about most.

I have proved what one person with an agent team can ship.

Off the clock: music production and long countryside walks with family and the dog.
